Still Christmas?
Excerpt from the family journal:
"On Monday [February 8, 1981] David took down the Christmas tree"
I remember that, and having revisited the journal, it is obvious why. What with David's extended illness (see War Won Ton Soup) which was not-quite-pneumonia, an intense weekend of wooing a prospective employee, and my eight-and-a-half-month pregnancy, it's a wonder we just didn't hang hearts on it and call it Valentine's Tree. The kids were too young to know the difference anyway. Fortunately, it was an artificial tree, so we weren't courting a fire risk.
Not that we haven't had other Christmas tree adventures. But that is another story (or two).
