Little Anita Joy

Laura was born on August 26, 1979. My Aunt Nita was also born on August 26. Aunt Nita is one of the favorite aunts on the Bradshaw side, always laughing and ready for fun.

When she learned that Laura was born on her birthday, she was ecstatic. She called our baby "Little Anita Joy," and presented her with an adorable ceramic kangaroo that rocked on her long feet (balanced by her tail) and had a little joey (removeable) curled up in her front pocket.

Alas, the kangaroo is long broken, and only the joey remains. But Aunt Nita still favors her little Anita Joy.
